With the increased use of devices by children it becomes harder to police all the avenues children may find themselves down. On this page we have signposted website where you can find help and advice to help you keep oyur children as safe as possible online.
Ofcom, is the government-approved regulatory and competition authority for the broadcasting, telecommunications and postal industries of the United Kingdom According to their annual report published in February 2020:
3 - 4 Year olds:
17% play games on line for an average of 4 hours 42 minutes weekly 24% own their own tablet - 15% of them can take it to bed.
5 - 7 Year olds:
35% play games on line for an average of 6 hours 18 minutes weekly 37% own their own tablet - 14 % of them can take it to bed
8 - 11 Year olds:
66% play games on line for an average of 9 hours 30 minutes weekly 49% own their own tablet - 32 % of them can take it to bed
As part of the curriculum here at Howden Church of England Infact School we teach children how to stay safe on line and why it's so important to ask about anything they are unsure of.

Online Safety in School
Schools in England (and Wales) are required “to ensure children are safe from terrorist and extremist material when accessing the internet in school, including by establishing appropriate levels of filtering”.
Schools in The Education Alliance use Smoothwall, an accredited filtering provider for UK schools, to monitor and filter all internet traffic.
